Things are a-brewin’

Well, even though I haven’t been directly involved in activism for a while, there’s a huge number of people who haven’t slowed down a bit. They’ve created a group called CSCS Ottawa (Committee for Safer Consumption Sites Ottawa) and they’ve been having meetings every few weeks. It looks like things are moving along at a steady clip, and they’re going to eventually use the VANDU strategy for getting a SCS open here. If you’re not sure what the VANDU strategy is, see if you can find the story of the opening of InSite online… if not I’ll eventually write out what I can remember here.

Anyway, I’m off to Southern Ontario, where I grew up, for 6 days to visit family. Family that flew across the Atlantic to see me and my sibling, actually, so I’m very excited. Plus I get to take the train!! I friggin LOVE the train.

I hope people are starting to read this again. I’m always a little bit un-motivated because I feel like I write thousands of words and nobody reads them… (hint, hint, comment if you like what you’re reading).

When I get back, I’ll start to write some specific articles on current events in harm reduction, and of course a smattering of politics like always. And if you have any questions about anything in the HR world, PLEASE leave a comment. I would be SO happy to write a post on a reader-submitted question!! That would be awesome.
