Majority of Canadians not buying Harper’s majority

Too bad in Canada the majority of Canadians don’t count. There’s something deeply wrong with our electoral system when a party can form a majority government – an irresponsible, spendthrift one at that – and wield power over a nation, introducing unpopular policies and a disastrous ideological bent to our courts. Too bad there’s no real media representing the majority of  Canadians and no cohesive, effective opposition to wage the fight that needs to be fought.

When Harper says he is “all about earning and maintaining the trust of Canadians”, he is clearly lying.

UPDATE: Oh fuck, now I read that Harper is calling the Conservatives ‘Canada’s party’. Oh really? The majority of Canadians don’t agree with you, Stevie. First the ‘Harper Government’ and now ‘Canada’s party’. Ego anyone?

He said winning a majority government with so many new MPs is a sign the Conservative party has become a home for Canadians from all regions and backgrounds and that “Conservative values are Canadian values.”

“The Conservative party is Canada’s party,” Harper said.
