Lisa Raitt takes on union postal workers: "It’s a sexy issue"

Raitt: “I will not be the next Helena Geurgis. Been down that road.”

Harper’s Labour Minister was resolute this morning while talking to reporters about the postal strike, which Raitt calls a ‘sexy issue’. Ms Raitt said that in light of the union busting in Wisconsin, it is a good time for the feds to flex some muscle or as the Minister put it, ‘show a little thigh’. She went on to argue that unions were ‘bad’ but was flummoxed when asked why.

Meanwhile Raitt refused to discuss the rumour that sensitive documents dealing with the strike seem to have gone missing. A spokesperson for the Minister blamed an aide for the loss, saying that someone will have to be thrown under the bus, preferably not Raitt herself. When pressed on the issue of past government officials who have suffered Harper’s wrath for similar acts of incompetence, the spokesperson replied, “Oh, Stephen is like totally Lisa’s bitch, no problems there”.
