HuffPost’s shame: Supriya Dwivedi does it again

A week ago HuffPost featured a dishonest post from one Supriya Dwivedi, who began her treatise on Brigette DePape with the usual ‘I’m no conservative but…’ bit of trickery before presenting every Con trick in the book to discredit the former page, falsely claiming DePape threw a ‘tantrum’.

Today, Montrealer Dwivedi tries to smear Vancouver, much in the same manner as she took on DePape.  Witness this from the HuffPost blogger:

“At the risk of sounding law and order-esque, I think the only way for Vancouver to redeem itself as being one of the best cities in the world, is to prosecute the rioters to the full extent of the law.”

Sit back and enjoy that little bit of dishonesty and hypocrisy. Again with the “I’m no prude but…” trick. I’m out of words for this bit of nonsense from someone who was not here, who is not here now. It’s infuriating what these Eastern Canadian idiots in the media and blogosphere have claimed about this city, during and after the playoffs. I don’t mind criticism; we deserve some. But do it honestly.

Vancouver is still a great city. We don’t need misleading headlines like yours, Supriya, “Vancouver 17 Years Later: Still Rioting”. Since 1994, we’ve had one night of flames, not 17 years of them. And for god’s sake, stop using that insufferable, ‘I’m not a …but” or “at the risk of”  trick to make a point.

Canada has a real problem with a yellowed media that is acknowledged as being overwhelmingly Conservative. It’s a shame the HuffPost, now owned by AOL, is following suit.
