Romney is the front runner again (and all is back to normal). At this point the only thing that can give Santorum enough delegates for a broken convention is if Gingrich drops out. Santorum could still win more delegates than Romney though. How? My math Skills at work. You need 1144 delegates to clinch the nomination.

The Happy Wanderer: So Illinois?
In Irder for Santorum to have any chance to stop Romney from getting 1144. He will need to win over big states and mid western states. Illinois is one of the states Santorum needs to win if he still wants to win the nomination. Now if Romney wins today he
Continue readingThe Happy Wanderer: R is for Romney and Rick Santorum
Romney released his tax returns only to show us that he makes a lot of money and is taxed at a rate 15.4% the lowest rate is 15%! Now this was of no surprise to some. It only show the enormous amount of money the U.S could be getting to reduce the

Romney in 2008 had one very strong allies. That ally was his home state called Michigan he won it by 9%. Granted it wasn’t a complete landslide, but it was one of the only states he did win. Which means that in a race where Romney is the front runner one would assume Michigan would

Now I don’t actually want to sound mean, but I just couldn’t resist. Well so far we have three candidates who won a state. Rick Santorum after some recounts in Iowa, Romney with his neighboring state New Hampshire and now Gingrich after getting endorsed by Rick Perry wins South Carolina. One Candidate in the whole
Continue readingThe Happy Wanderer: The Romney Plan
One of the strongest political maneuvers is to draw a picture to the electorate that one candidate is going to be the inevitable winner. In the U.S this practice is used much more in the primaries, because after the first few states have their say the media and the candidates
Continue readingThe Happy Wanderer: Easy Come Easy GO!
Apparently Santorum’s Iowa momentum is dead and is no longer helping him in New Hampshire. Jon Huntsman keeping his 3rd place position, and Paul Solid at around 20%. While Mitt Romney has declined in his poll numbers according to recent polls, but It seems that Romney is still going to beat Paul and Huntsman by a margin probably
Continue readingThe Happy Wanderer: Romney Better Watch Out In New Hamshire!
Rick Santorum jumped from his near win in Iowa to now campaigning in New Hampshire. With Michele Bachman out some 5% of voters are now up for grabs in the Republican nomination. Considering in New Hampshire the only candidates that went up in the polls are Santorum and Paul I
Continue readingThe Happy Wanderer: What Happened in Iowa?
Rick Santorum and Romney are practically even . So in the case of momentum I say that it is Santorum who takes the Iowa momentum to New Hampshire. Rick Santorum won the central part of Iowa that was filled with evangelicals and rural voters, Romney won slightly in the most populated counties which

When Iowa votes tonight it is important to look at some small surprises there are in the race. So here are general areas to look for: All the counties south of Des Moines including Des Moines (these are rural Evangelical voters who anybody, but Romney needs to make a diffrence) The

A new poll by PPP shows that Ron Paul is still in the fight for Iowa and is currently at the top of the pack. Ron Paul has 20%, Romney 18%, and Rick Santorum 18%. Iowa there is a three way fight. I still maintain that Paul will win this

In a somewhat strange turn of events it seems the Democrats who contiguous talk themselves as being the party that will save Social Security is now the party that quite frankly is giving it lip service. The Payroll tax (the tax that generates a lot of income for Social Security) is at

It seems the so called committee that was going to save the U.S deficit crisis (yeah right) ended up doing nothing. And those so called triggers that would have come into effect in order to force politicians to work together was a big joke apparently, because since most automatic spending cuts

It seems that that more needs to be done to stop a Iran from going nuclear. Iran is clearly a threat to peace in the world let alone peace in the middle east. Canada, the U.S and France need to continuously push for deeper sanctions on Iran. Iran who’s…

Continue readingWritings of J. Todd Ring: Why Occupy Wall Street does NOT need the Democratic party
Some people are now calling for Obama and the Democratic Party to get behind (or is that take over or co-opt) the Occupy Wall Street movement; this at best a strategically unwise misdirection of energies, I would argue, and at worst, a dangerously naiv…
