Stéphane Dion, He’s Everywhere!

I read in the Star today that Stéphane Dion is going to be a speaker at the Green Party of Canada convention in August. This might surprise some but you may remember he attended the NDP convention in 2011 as an observer so he’s not shy about mixing with the members of other parties.

It’s been a busy year for Mr. Dion. He was in Rio on June 15 invited by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) to speak at the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development and you can read the speech he made on his FaceBook page. May he attended the Fair Vote Canada convention. Prior to that he was in Calgary talking about Senate reform, attended a town hall discussion on electoral reform,as well as speaking on electoral reform at a pub night for the Edward Blake Society and writing a proposal on electoral reform. Electoral reform has been on the agenda for Stéphane Dion for a long time and you can hear what he said about it on CBC radio ins 2008 here.

I’m always amazed to see how passionate and committed Mr. Dion remains to the causes he cares about. Despite the abuse he took from various quarters when he was Liberal leader, he remains a pro-active political force and an advocate for the environment and electoral reform in Canada.

Bravo Mr. Dion!
