HUACeeeeeee!
I, for one, am sure glad that has been cleared up….
****
What the heckfire am I talking about this time?
Well….
It would appear that Mr. Mike Duffy has made it clear that the latest hearing by the chamber of (nolongerso) sober second thought is not looking for ‘evil’ amongst our assembled citizenry that is ‘Un-Canadian.’
I guess that means that he and his are not aping and/or planning to exhume the once fine Senator from Wisconsin named McCarthy.
Pogge breaks the story down, here:

…There’s no word yet on whether the senators intend to that employees of the various foundations wear white or black hats, as appropriate.

But Mike Duffy called upon his years of experience as a broadcast journalist and offered an incisive yet succinct analysis.

“They are all anti-Canadian”

And so I stand corrected. It’s the Senate Anti-Canadian Activities Committee. SAAC. Thanks for that, Mike.

And the good Reverend Paperboy wonders if the (not)McCarthy’s really want to go down the accusatory “evil foreigners” road when it comes to groups like the Suzuki Foundation and The Sierra Club:

Harper-appointee Percy Mockler told the Senate it had to stop the interference of foreign foundations who were “muddling” in the business of our country. “I believe they do abuse the laws of Revenue Canada,” he said. Not all foundations, of course, were “evil,” Mockler said. “Just some of them.” The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation did good work, as did The Rockefeller Foundation and the Canadian Tire Foundation for Families. But others were “qualified bad, not to mention ugly, foundations,” Mockler said, listing: The David Suzuki Foundation, the Packard Foundation, the Greenpeace International Foundation, the Sierra Club Foundation, the Hewlett Foundation, the Ecojustice Canada Bullitt Foundation, the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, Tides Canada and the MADD foundation. ….

{snippety doo-dah}
…Keep in mind that conservative shills such as the National Citizens Coalition, the Manning Centre forTeaching Conservatives How to Get and Keep Power Democracy and the Fraser Institute are all non-profit tax-exempt foundations

Demonization.
It is not just for Liberal Party of Canada Leaders anymore.
