No apologies for violating my own “nil nisi bonum” rule with that cartoon by Gilbert Shelton. There are always exceptions.

Breitbart filled a much-needed gap. He lived a mercifully short life. He singlehandedly did the near-impossible—lowering the already wretched state of American political discourse still further, building his nest in a dim and dank and smelly place where hordes of those like him—the Teabaggers, the crazy bigots of every stripe—happily followed.

He did contribute a word to the language, and that will be his fitting memorial. Oh, and this:
