Another day, another muzzled scientist. This time it’s Dr. David Tarasick, a member of an international team of researchers who recently discovered a vast hole in the ozone layer over Canada’s Arctic.
This discovery comes just as Environment Canada is in the process of downsizing its ozone monitoring network. Dr. Tarasick and several colleagues have been informed that they may be laid off as the “streamlining” continues.
It is not yet clear whether Conservative apparatchiks are preparing to deny that the hole exists. Will the New Inquisitors find Dr. Tasasick “vehemently suspect of heresy” for claiming the opposite?
