Norwegian terrorism: eggs, meet faces

Oslo.jpg

Awkward. The mass murderer who set off a bomb in Oslo and opened fire on a bunch of kids in a camp turns out to be a right-wing, Christian, anti-Muslim activist, an admirer of Geert Wilders, an “ethnic Norwegian,” as blond as they come.

The Usual Suspects, cheated of their latest jihadist global conspiracy confirmation, are now switching with effortless ease to the “crazed lone gunman” meme.

But here were their first sober reflections:

“This is what happens when you let third world people immigrate to a first world country.”

Whoops.

I will say this again to those who are too frightened and foolish to have listened the first time. Islamic groups have promised and still promise terror to Norway; Islamic groups have launched terror attacks all over Europe, including Stockholm, and attacked individuals in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Iceland. Islamic groups initially claimed responsibility for this horror; and Islamic groups have launched several attacks in the last 24 hours in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. Since 9/11 there have been 16,000 terror attacks by jihadists. The shock will not be if it is Islamic terror, but if it isn’t.

Whoops.

FYI: Yes, there is a militant Muslim presence in Oslo. See this.

Also: Norway’s Muslim rapist problem.

And this: Mullah Krekar claims Islam will win.

Whoops.

[T]here is a specific jihadist connection here: “Just nine days ago, Norwegian authorities filed charges against Mullah Krekar, an infamous al Qaeda-affiliated terrorist who, with help from Osama bin Laden, founded Ansar al Islam – a branch of al Qaeda in northern Iraq – in late 2001.”

Whoops.

And then this fascinating comment, which in short form consists of: OK, it wasn’t jihadists, but it could have been, and Canada must stand prepared. I believe that the balletic term for this manoeuvre, by no mean coincidence, is “arabesque.”

Osama bin Laden may be dead but his al-Qaida organization isn’t. The mastermind of the World Trade Center attack in 2001 – and other horrific events – had identified Canada as a “designated target” for terrorist action because our role in Afghanistan.

Although it’s unclear who was responsible for the Oslo atrocity – although reports point to a lone right-wing extremist – Islamist extremists remain in the spotlight right now because they’ve launched numerous attacks.

Ah, a “lone right-wing extremist.” We can all relax now for a moment, change the subject back to the Islamist global threat, and enjoy a breakfast omelette.
