Republicans say Obama administration is "anti-jobs", "anti-business’ and "anti-american energy"

We can expect nothing new to come from the Republicans in their critique of the Democrats and their captain, Barack Obama. This was apparent during the New Hampshire GOP presidential debates in the U.S. today.

Gingrich, Romney, Paul, Cain, Santorum, Pawlenty and Bachmann, all blasted Obama on everything, from his administration’s handling of the economy to the health-care reform he tried to implement in 2010.

Fortunately, watching the debate I realised how lucky I am to be a Canadian. Despite the deficiencies of our own political system, we at least do not have a far right group, like the Tea-Party and the GOP, with a more than credible chance of forming a government or winning any election.

These guys make the PC and Harper look almost Liberal.

What’s even more alarming is that these far-right nut bags receive substantial support in the country from ordinary Americans, both wealthy and middle class. How can this be? especially when it is so obvious that these people aren’t going to fix anything by de-regulating the American economic machine.

Am I wrong in saying that it is too much de-regulation that exacerbated the economic crash we’ve been dealing with for the past four years?

Regardless of the answer, the GOP, the party of the well-to-do and the Tea Party, the party of the ignorant, cause ignorance needs representation too, would most likely implement policies that will further empoverish the U.S. and damage the social progress the Obama administration has managed to achieve.

So why vote for these ideologues? Why do the American people have a problem with bigger government in times of crisis?

In my humble opinion, its probably because candidates like these, on the right those against bigger government, are more show men and show women than they are politicians. They’re firebrands, they entertain and in the case of the Tea Party, amuse.

And we in Canada know all too well how much Americans love their entertainment! They love it at the cost of their own economic and physical well-being.

Either ways, this next presidential campaign will prove to be quite entertaining for us Canadians, at the very least. Because when I see Big Brother stumble on his toes and make a fool of himself, that’s cause for celebration, that’s entertainment for me.

I do not wish them ill. However, a man has to get his dose of daily comedy somehow, no?
