UPDATE The Case of the Lazy Journos

The CBC reported today that the NDP has officially apologized for “embellishing” Ruth Ellen Brosseau’s resume. Apparently the NDP had posted that Ms. Brosseau had a diploma in advertising when, in reality, she was two credits short of finishing her course. The reason given is that she had to return to her home to be with her family so she wasn’t able to finish her course.

Why is this a big deal? To be honest, I don’t know. It seems to me that the CBC is making much about nothing. So there was a clerical error, big deal. She told someone that she went to school for this particular diploma and perhaps words were crossed and whomever wrote down that Ms. Brosseau had completed a diploma that she never completed. Again, WHO CARES?

Poor Ms. Brosseau. She was obviously parachuted into this riding and having never set foot in the riding and having gone to Vegas for whatever reason, as well as having been a bartender (why is this important actually, shouldn’t anyone be able to run for parliament?) she just cannot catch a break. Personally, I cannot WAIT for parliament go get back to Ottawa at the end of the month. Maybe then journos, the CBC…all of these “media” outlets can actually do something productive and report on policy instead of continuing on this childish course of personal and political assassination via ridiculous reports of personality failure.
