Canada’s will.i.am emerges from Calgary

The most effective content always seems to come from third parties. Cartoonists, musicians, and artists tend to be better at connecting with large audiences than politicos – but that hardly needs saying.

“Rise Up,” is a perfect example of an artist connecting with a theme and an audience in a way that political parties don’t seem able to do themselves.  Melissa D’Souza has created, in my view, the best political content of the campaign so far, the most positive, enthusiastic message we have seen.  If the new trend in Canadian youth politics is vote mobs and excitement, she is the perfect symbol for a generation.
