Ed Rollins, the veteran Republican political operative who has been charged with running Michele Bachmann’s presidential campaign, has been ordered by his boss to apologize to Sarah Palin. Rollins’ crime? He called Palin ‘not serious’. Yes. That’s all.
This must be a serious insult to Mr. Rollins, the stern-faced pundit whose mug is a fixture on cable news shows and a respected (make that, formerly respected) Republican figurehead. It must be especially galling in that Rollins’ strategy of preventing Ms. Bachmann lying during the recent debate might be a turning point in her shaky career.
