I just got a PM from a candidate for the upcoming BC Provincial election letting me know that they were advised to shut down their personal FB page for the duration of the campaign.
To everyone running for office who reads my posts:
If you are being advised to shut down your personal page for political reasons, you are getting bad advice, and quite likely doing Social wrong. This is akin to your campaign suggesting that you stop going to the grocery store in your neighbourhood to avoid accidentally saying something to a voter which could be wrong.
