I didn’t know I had the mute button on when I first played this ad and without sound I thought it was a decent example of “Show, Don’t Tell” messaging. If I might make some constructive criticism, when I turned on the sound, the narrative distracted unnecessarily from the emotional content inherent in the imagery. The captions and music were actually sufficient to convey the intended message. I’d like to see Liberal messaging get more creative and move away from the heavy-handed style we see from the Conservatives. An old writing trick is to jot down the images you want create the message and only layer in words or voice narrative as needed.
Looking forward to seeing what comes next.
