That’s a good thing if you’re Jacques Villenuve or Vinn Diesel, but if you are in need of Health Care; are concerned about crime; or, as we see in the video below, a Manitoba farmer – being able to turn on a dime means that if you are backing Hugh McFadyen, you will be the first to get run over.
The evidence on Youtube, click here.
It doesn’t get any clearer than that.
For those that don’t want to view the video evidence on Youtube, here’s what it’s about.
On November 20, 2006, Hugh McFadyen rose in the Manitoba Legislative Assembly and said:
“The facts are as follows. The Federal government was proposing to move ahead with changes to the way wheat and barely were marketed in Canada. On the basis of that position, we wrote to the Prime Minister to call on the Federal government, to call on the Federal government to have a plebiscite before making those changes. The Federal government listened!”
Not on the video, but in Hansard, McFadyen is equally clear with this:
That is clear and unequivocable – Hugh McFadyen supports the right of the farmers to determine the fate of their Canadian Wheat Board.
If there are changes to the marketing system, then there needs to be a plebiscite.
Hugh is crystal clear on that.
But.
Something happened.
Something happened that made Hugh McFadyen, without warning, turn on a dime and run over those that were following behind him.
Shortly after Stephen Harper gets a majority government in Ottawa, Hugh has done a complete 180 degree turn and runs over the farmers in the process.
Here is Hugh McFadyen from June 13, 2011:
Wow.
Not good enough.
Here’s a link to the PC Manitoba Website where Hugh McFadyen is once again clear about running over the farmers:
In Hugh’s world, the winner gets to do whatever the hell s/he pleases!
Now I was here for the most recent Federal Election.
You were here for the most recent Federal Election.
If you believe that very same election that we just went through was a referendum on the Canadian Wheat Board; or, the the future of the Canadian Wheat Board was in any way, shape, or form relevant to the campaign, then you are a very unique individual. The subject of the future of the Canadian Wheat simply never came up, yet, in the world of Hugh McFadyen, the matter was decided when Stephen Harper got his majority government.
Yet Hugh equates the majority government with the right to do as he pleases.
OK, fine. You’re not a farmer and don’t care about farmers. Fair enough.
OK, fine. You don’t support single-desk marketing. Fair enough.
OK, fine. You are a Conservative and think all us New Democrats are socialist dupes. Fine! Fair Enough!
Does the ends justify the means?
If Hugh can turn and run over the farmers, where are we with respect to say, fiscal responsiblity?
Earlier this year, Team McFayden was insistant that the government must reduce spending. I know that reductions in government spending and the, “need to live within our means” are the heart and sole, the bread and butter, the very air that Conservatives breathe. Well, at least rhetorically, for we all know that Conservative government are historically the worst offenders for running up debt and deficit – but, we’ll just giv’em this for the time being. They are the defenders of the the public purse!
That being the case, we have Team McFadyen with this – and again, this is real, sourced (Winnipeg Free Press, January 3, 2011) and clear:
Yet, here we are in the middle of an election campaign and Hugh is outspending the NDP nearly two to one, and Hugh is promising to run a deficit until 2018!
The Headline, ” Tory pledges add up to $700 million, NDP pledges $400 million”…..WTF!
In less than a year, Hugh has gone from “we’re spending too much and need to sack nurses, police officers, corrections officers and teachers”, to “hell, let’s give everyone their own personal medical team and police force!”
But do ya see the problem here?
If you’re following someone who can turn on a dime without warning – you better be able to turn even quicker, or you’re gonna get hurt. Might need a Paramedic. Let’s hope they’re not the first.
