I don’t like the way they framed what they were doing…

they weren’t there stating clearly that they were challenging totalitarian government control by attempting to come into direct conflict with it.

nope.

they were just there, smiling, hangin’ around, playing kumbaya and talking about fucking yoga. it’s almost as if they were constrained by a need to be law abiding, “nice”, friendly. almost as if, in so doing, they were keeping the moral right on their side. that’s what protestors supposedly need to do in this age of spin doctoring and media manipulation.

We need to be concerned about our numbers in the polls and about the high opinion of those who acquiesce.

“We’re gonna leave. Obviously we don’t want to cause trouble. But we want to make sure – we do have the right to sleep on public sidewalks. There was a court order that passed.”

So, they want to make sure that their act of civil disobedience is covered under the law, that when they step out, but not too far out, that they will actually be taken care of by the state they are seeking to challenge.

Fuck their stupid ass first amendment. It’s meaningless and their hyper-focus on it is just a pleasant way to wile away the time, debating theories about the basis for the formation of their idiot country while the planet sits on the brink of destruction.

Smart assed, yet completely disempowered white boys looking for something cool to do that makes them seem brave and astute, really annoy me.
