I’m not sure I buy that the News Corp boss was ‘very shaken’ by his apology to the family of the girl whose voice mail his company hacked. I don’t think he has those kind of feelings. But if he truly does, perhaps he could take action to correct the corruption of his news stable, starting with the dissolution of Fox News. That is, if he truly wants to ‘set a standard for honesty and decency in journalism’. Eh, not gonna happen.
Murdoch, the lawyer says, issued a full and sincere apology to the Dowlers and said the events that took place at the now-defunct News of the World were not in keeping with the standards set out when his own father entered the media industry.
Lewis said Murdoch was “very humbled, he was very shaken and he was very sincere.”
