The fact that Americans are more interested in a man’s genitalia than in the problems that plague their society comes as no surprise to many Canadians.
I for one think that Anthony Weiner shouldn’t resign his post in Congress.
Why is that? Well, first, no one cares about Weiner’s manhood, for a publicized picture of it has no bearing on the man’s competence as a Congressman.
Second, Weiner did not cheat on his wife. So what’s the problem then? Are we to say that we condemn a man for having impure thoughts. Are we to say that we subscribe to the doctrine of thought crime, that we condemn people for what they think and not for what they do.
So then, is taking an obscene photo and corresponding online considered cheating? Or are the Americans just outraged that Weiner was thinking about doing something impure and unfitting of a civil servant?
Seriously, we’ve just found out that Anthony Weiner is human after all, not just some bloodsucking politician on Capitol Hill. That’s cause for celebration in my books.
So what did Weiner do? He showed off his goods to a seventeen year old and a bunch of other online hopefuls by sending some pictures, probably because he feels confident about his package.
I mean c’mon, what guy hasn’t taken at least one photo of his Johnson?
Maybe Weiner’s wife wasn’t doing it for him, maybe the couple was already experiencing some problems before this whole genitalia thing. Faithfulness is not synonymous with happiness.
Again, to reiterate, what does a picture of a Congressman’s member have to do with the competence of that man to do his job? And why is it that pictures of the male and female sexual organ are considered so damn offensive in a country that took pornography to new heights?
You know what Americans, stick a sock in it and judge Weiner by his record , not by his teenage like libido.
