Wilbon and Kornheiser take on Bettman’s threat to Winnipegers

Good to see the guys at Pardon the Interruption take on Gary Bettman’s petty and threatening warning to Winnipeg, “It doesn’t work if this building isn’t full every night.” Pretty mild but an insult to the city of Winnipeg. Perhaps it was just bad phrasing – which I think it probably was – but Bettman should know better.

Anyway, it wasn’t the lack of crowds that killed the Jets, it was bad ownership. Yes, Winnipeg isn’t the biggest of markets, but look at Regina and the Riders, support for a team can be province-wide and draw people from all over. Winnipeg is a great sports town. The Bombers have sold out all home games to season ticket holders. I bet the Jets have a long and storied second coming. Rock on, Winnipeg and congrats.
