Oil spill changes everything – CNN.com

I wonder if the BC Liberal government is still as gung-ho about offshore exploration and drilling on the pacific coast. True, the risk of a hurricane is almost non-existent here, but we have earthquakes to be concerned about. I’d never claim that BC’s pacific coastline is more important than the Gulf of Mexico, but it sure is special to us; and the wildlife and local communities that depend on clean oceans are no less important here than it is in the gulf coast.

The difference is that in light of the huge oil spill in the gulf coast, BC hasn’t started exploration or drilling – but the current government wants to. Now would be the right time to re-think that; it would be ok – I’d give them credit for doing the right thing.
