What’s wrong with America?!
As an outside observer to America, I’ve always considered Americans to be as generous and open minded as anyone in my country…even if they tilt conservative on social issues.
But, what is going on? For the first time since it was brought up in the great depression almost 100 years ago, America has the leadership to expand health services to its entire population. Yet this is one of the most divisive issues ever. Its being slandered as socialist medicine (or Canadian-style Medicare) when it is clearly nothing of the sort.
Why oppose something that stops the taxpayer from bailing out millions of uninsured, bankrupted Americans?
This program will save taxpayers money in the short and long term and will go a long way to bringing the American budget back into balance.
Its no where near a public medicare system, but its a good first step.
