Seems Sen John McCain had it and he ain’t a takin’ it anymore. He’s mad at fellow Rethuglicans and tea-bagger hit parade. Don’t worry, folks, he ain’t crossin’ the floor to the Democrats–he had no kind words for them neither.
In a Senate floor speech laced with sarcasm and stings, the Arizona Republican aimed especially harsh fire at the tea party Wednesday.
McCain said the movement is “foolish” to think a balanced budget amendment could pass before the August 2 deadline. At one point, McCain read from an op-ed in Wednesday’s Wall Street Journal. That article referred to activists as “tea party hobbits” – the little people who inhabit Middle-earth in the Lord of the Rings series.
Needless to say, the tea-bagger hit parade, predictably, are thumping their widdle fists, and still demonstrating how they’re not over JD Hayworth’s primary loss to McCain.
Sen. McCain is a weak RINO whom conservative candidate J.D. Hayworth should have easily replaced last fall. But Hayworth was outmatched by McCain’s massive campaign funds and RNC backing. McCain attacked and smeared Hayworth in Arizona TV ads with such vim and vile, he’d have won the presidency if he had shown just one-fifth as much gumption and spark during the 2008 prez election.
Awww! Poor babies! Well, then, tea-baggers! Hmm, attack ads and unlimited spending rules for election campaigns, ain’t it just the way you like it? Survival of the fittest? McCain proved he was more fit than your tea-baggin’ candidate; probably unfairly and unsquarely, again, just the way you like it. Now deal with it!
I’m no fan of McCain, but I kinda like it when the right eat their own so publicly. Now pass the popcorn please.
