While I see some positives in Justin Trudeau, I will be voting for Joyce Murray. Trudeau has taken the “safe” route for frontrunners in avoiding releasing very much policy and some of what he has said seems to put him on track to be something other than what Canada needs.

kirbycairo: Joyce Murray Follow-up. .. .
Earlier today I engaged in a small thought experiment in which I asked Joyce Murray for an explanation of her participation in the cabinet of Gordon Campbell. My language was intentionally provocative because when it comes to human rights issues in particular I think we often need to be a little provocative.

From an email I received yesterday evening from Matt Certosimo, the National Membership Secretary: Presumably, the deadline extension will give the party time to contact anyone who is serious about following-up on their original contact, although I expect the final tally will be embarrassingly low. That said, if Joyce Murray hangs tough for

Miscellaneous material for your mid-week reading. – Tim Harper reminds us why Brad Wall is thoroughly off base in claiming that it’s the duty of every Canadian politician to demonstrate constant fealty to his resource-sector puppet-masters: The Conservatives, of course, would like the entire country to come together behind their
Continue readingImpolitical: Attack can be the sincerest form of flattery #lpcldr
As readers of my blog would know, I have been supporting Joyce Murray in the Liberal leadership campaign. I have been proud to do so as Joyce has run a smart, positive political campaign from the get-go. She has emphasized her vision of a Sustainable Society with compelling proposals on
Continue readingAccidental Deliberations: On poison pills
I’ve already pointed out the absurdity of Gordon Campbell anti-NDP acolyte Joyce Murray pretending to run as a pan-progressive candidate in the Libs’ leadership race. But if we needed any more indication that she can’t be taken seriously, Tim Harper provides it by looking at the fine print of her
Continue readingPolitics and its Discontents: Absolutely!
For me, one of the biggest offenses against logical thinking is absolutism, which essentially says there is only one right answer, that everything is black or white, with no gradations of gray. An example would be Vic Toews infamous assertion, when controversy erupted over his deeply flawed Internet surveillance bill,
Continue readingScott's DiaTribes: Joyce Murray and her supporters can’t be ignored with a good vote result
A nice article by Tim Harper on Liberal Leadership candidate Joyce Murray can be found here. There seems to be a growing impression Ms. Murray will do well in voting in the Liberal leadership race (relatively speaking, considering how many supporters Justin Trudeau has signed up). Now, I’ll say again

Justin Trudeau’s Big Enchilada? This extract from The Vancouver Courier just about sums up the fate of electoral reform’s future right now: Political cooperation isn’t a new concept, but University of B.C. political science professor Philip Resnick says it’s worth noting that in both the NDP and Liberal leadership campaigns,

Joyce Murray on Sun News once again. A little additional reading: “Why Supporting Joyce Murray Is the Best Way to Defeat Stephen Harper.” Oh, and apparently there could be 300,000 in the pool. Numbers yet to be announced by the party. Have a good day!

While the race goes on in the background, two pieces to note that are out in the last 24 hours on Joyce Murray demonstrating her continuing ability to impress. There was the column in iPolitics as of last night by one tough cookie, Michael Harris: “The credibility candidate: Joyce Murray

I haven’t heard this mentioned in any of the coverage of yesterday’s LPoC leadership debate, but on February 26th MHF was for Northern Gateway Pipeline; as of yesterday’s debate, she’s sudddenly agin it. That’s what you call a policy reversal…a waffle…a dither…a flip flop, even. Worth noting too that among the

Just received this in my inbox: There is a difference between a cheerleader and a leader. Seven candidates in this race are acting like cheerleaders, expressing their faith that Liberals will win power either because it is inevitable (sailing dangerously close to the arrogance of assuming we are Canada’s natural

Video of the candidate with the “wind at her back.” On how she’s bringing new people into the party, will rebuild it as priority number one…and so on. Well worth a watch. Yes, I realize my site is becoming a little heavy on the political candidate side but it’s the

This is the last week for supporters to sign up by the March 3rd deadline. Take note and spread the word! So there is a lot of activity going on in the race in various momentum building activities. I like the way this blog item puts it for Joyce Murray’s

Andrew Coyne – truthteller Andrew Coyne in an article in the Vancouver Sun headed To improve our politics we have to repair our broken electoral system, puts a devastating case forward as to why pre-election cooperation followed by post-electoral meaningful electoral reform is necessary: If you never make the case

I had to resign my membership in the Green Party to do it, but now I’m a Liberal Supporter. I didn’t join the Liberal Party and I won’t unless something radical happens but I registered as a Liberal Supporter in order to vote for Joyce Murray as party leader. Murray

Joyce Murray’s campaign for Liberal leadership gets a nice boost today: DAVID SUZUKI OPEN LETTER February 20, 2013 “An open letter to Canadians: I am writing this as an individual citizen, not on behalf of any organization or political party. In fact, I do not belong to any political party.

Joyce Murray – She walks the talk Joyce Murray’s electoral reform proposals are the most democratic of all candidates for leadership. Unlike the others who are simply practising old-style top-down command politics, Joyce is actually walking the talk of participatoty democracy in the party. Her pre-election cooperation idea leaves the
