Is Solomon Elimimian the Cameron Wake of 2011?

Solomon Elimimian, CFL defensive rookie of 2010 is tearing it up for the BC Lions this year. He and Geroy Simon on the offensive side are almost single-handedly pulling the indolent Lions up by their boot strings and inspiring the rest of the team. Elimimian is the key to a defence struggling since the departure of future NFL star Cameron Wake, who left BC for the Miami Dolphins after the 2008 season.

While Elimimian’s award-winning 2010 season yielded 77 tackles, half-way through this year he’s already at 54, at a record-breaking rate if he continues his pace. More than the numbers what’s striking about Solomon’s performance is the more nebulous impact of his timing of great plays. He shows up at precisely the moment the D needs a play. He has a knack for turning around the momentum and giving the struggling O opportunities to realize its potential.

So all you NFL types, keep your eyes on Solomon Elimimian. You’ve most likely not heard of him. You will soon, when he graduates to your league. Remember, you never heard of Cameron Wake until the last couple of years. Now he’s a defensive superstar. Next up, Elimimian.
