I thought the Washington Post was grossly irresponsible for keeping up a hate column by Jennifer Rubin blaming Muslims for the Norwegian tragedy but this bit of hate speech from Michael Coren is one of the most disgusting bits of unapologetic enmity dressed up as ‘irony’ as I have ever encountered.
It is sick and it is so indicative of today’s journalism and its corrupt practitioners.The Murdoch scandal is not just about hacking and police payoffs. It is about the abuse of the privilege to report and opine on news events in a truthful and ethical manner. Most Canadian journalists practice honest reportage. Many do not. It is a game to these people to see how much of their own ideology they can sneak into copy. Michael Coren is one of the most egregious abusers of journalistic privilege. He seethes hate for anything outside his small place in this world as easily as he breathes. I hesitate to quote the vulgar piece but here it is. Wash and rinse thoroughly afterwards.
Leftist Syndrome
Tragic irony. The teenagers at the socialist youth camp on the Norwegian island who were victims of terror had just demanded that Israel remove the separation fence – the wall – that has saved any number of innocent, Jewish children from Islamic terror gangs. They also condemned Israel for, well, pretty much everything, and showed no empathy at all for Jewish suffering, and the experience of living with terrorism for more than sixty years. So sad, but so typical.
Coren’s egregious example of journalism malpractice is stunning. It is taking the the ‘any criticism of Israel is anti-Semitism’ Conservative bullying tactics to another level. This man should not have a job in any capacity in our press. The next time you read a Postmedia or Sun Media author distancing its media empire from the Murdoch scandal, think of Michael Coren. The Murdoch stripe is all there in black and white.
