Do No Pass Go! No Soup for You!

The thing about Hugh McFadyen that sets off people’s bullshit detectors is his penchant for resorting to stunts that are cheap, cheesy, and perhaps worthy of a Junior running for Class President, but notsomuch when it comes to being the Premier.

It’s the whole lack of maturity thing.

One would thing that a man of Hugh’s age who aspires to elected office would, well, just grow up a bit and show some maturity.

But, alas, here we have Team Hughie at it again.

This time with their gimmicky use of the Monopoly, “Get Out of Jail Free” card.

In Hugh’s universe, Greg Selinger and Today’s NDP are responsible for the Criminal Code of Canada and the Winnipeg Police Force.

Adults know, of course, the it is the Federal government that determines the law and sets the punishment, and it is the City of Winnipeg that is responsible for the Winnipeg Police.

Those that are really up on their game also note that it is Today’s NDP that provides funds for an additional 208 Police Offiers above and beyond the normal complement; and, that it is Today’s NDP that has been houndnig the Feders to increase sanctions for criminal activity. ie: Trow the bums in jail.

No matter.

Hugh’s cheap stunt brought to mind a few Monopoly cards that may also come into play.

Here’s a card you will pick up if Hugh McFadyen pulls his turd out of the hat on October 4th:

We all know what Hugh would do with this card:

Just like in the game, he would sell it.  Or trade it for a spot on the Board of Director’s of the new private Manitoba Hydro.  Just like his old mentor Gary Filmon did with MTS.

When Hugh was serving as Gary Filmon’s Senior Policy Advisor and Gary Filmon’s Chief of Staff, Manitobans basically held:

After eleven years of Today’s NDP, Manitobans are more likely to hold:

or

At the end of that though, Hugh will draw:

have a little hissy fit, fling the board in the air and storm off pouting.
