While she discusses the American situation,what she has to say is applicable to Canada as well. It isn’t a coincidence that both the US and Canada are working towards the exact same corporate tax rate,after all we are both being lobbied by, and giving massive tax breaks to, the very same extremely profitable corporations.
As well in both nations as corporations pay less and less into the treasury,you and I are forced to make up the difference and not just in taxes either.
We also pay the price for these gifts to the corporate sector with our standard of living which has been declining for some time now.We pay the price with the lack of investment in our health care system,with declining government services, with crumbling infrastructure,we pay the price with underfunded education systems etc. etc.
So in effect we pay for tax cuts to these highly profitable corporations with our very souls.
